India vs SA: India beat South Africa by 9 wickets: won the series 2-1

  India defeated South Africa by 9 wickets in the third ODI in Visakhapatnam. Team India won the toss and elected to bowl. South Africa could only score 270 runs. India achieved the target by losing just one wicket in the 40th over. Virat Kohli hit two consecutive fours off Lungi Ngidi to give India victory.

Quinton de Kock scored a century for the visiting team at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy Stadium. Captain Temba Bavuma scored 48, Dewald Brewis scored 29 and Matthew Britzky scored 24 runs to take the team to 270 runs. Kuldeep Yadav and Prasidh Krishna took 4 wickets each for India.

Facing a target of 271 runs, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma gave India a strong start. They put on a 155-run partnership. Rohit was dismissed for 75, his first half-century of the series. Yashasvi then scored his maiden ODI century off 111 balls. Virat Kohli reached his half-century off just 40 balls. Both achieved victory in the 40th over.

Keshav Maharaj took the only wicket for South Africa. With the result in the third ODI, the home team won the three-match series 2-1. South Africa had chased 359 runs in the second match. The five-match T20I series between the two teams will begin on December 9. South Africa won the Test series 2-0.
